I am celebrating International Mother Language Day by correcting and adding place names in Hindi on Maps. Many times, place names in regional languages are either incorrect or missing. Today, I updated and added several names in Hindi.
This can also be done for other languages by simply changing the app’s language in settings. Once the language is changed, the option to add or correct place names in that language becomes available. Using this method, I have previously contributed by adding many place names in Hindi.
It’s a simple yet impactful way to promote linguistic diversity and ensure accurate representation of local names. Celebrate International Mother Language Day by writing place names in your language and helping improve Maps for everyone!
Congratulations on this celebration @K.K.Sharma Ji
I did this exact exercise while living in Delhi NCR.
Updated many places and also corrected the names in Hindi.
All were eventually edited on Google Maps and their views increased drastically.
My best wishes for the celebration
Yes, I often do that but here in our regional language i.e. Gujarati!
Good to know about your initiative…!!! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Best wishes…
Congratulations for doing this, @K.K.Sharma

Thank you, @ErmesT. I have replaced the copyright pin with the Maps pin that I received as a reward in 2023. I believe it is fine now. However, if there are still any legal issues, please let me know, and I will make the necessary changes. Thank you once again for your continuous guidance.
