Education is like the magic wand for me. Through my activities, I am trying to educate and enable school students, especially girls, in Innovation & Tech Education. As an Educator I always try to introduce Google maps in my sessions with school students. Recently I have organized a 2 hour long session with the Bangladeshi Expats kids living in Malaysia to introduce Google Maps & Google Street View with them. Google Maps is a really valuable resource to use in the classroom.
In the Local Guides program there are many teachers and educators. My story can inspire them to use Google maps in their classroom.
Due to the lockdown schools are still closed. School students can’t get a chance to go outside to visit their favourite places. Unfortunately it is not always possible to see all your favorite things/ places in real life. In addition, the planning to conduct a field trip is not possible due to covid 19. But Virtual field trips are now possible by using Google Streetview and we have taken this opportunity. I have also used Google Cardboard to see a 360-degree view.
The scope for the use of Google Maps in the classroom is vast. My students always look forward to using it and it clearly engages them.
