Email preferences

Hi everyone

I have a little problem which I haven’t find a solution to. Currently I am a google local guide level 6. I do this from my personal email but I don’t understand why the perks, contributions and news and product updates (which I sign up to received) are being sent to my work email. Is there any way I can change this? so I can get these emails to the account I am sign up with?

Hi @Karlagmcol7

If you receive emails to your work account, it means that also that account is registered to Local Guides program. Please make sure to check out the program rules. To have two account is against the rules.

You can close your second Local Guide account following this link: https://maps.google.com/localguides/home/settings

Thank you for your help, I am actually receiving the perks emails to my work account, but they are for the performance of my personal account. I don’t understand why or how? I never sign up to anything with my work email.

Do you have two account on your phone @Karlagmcol7 ?

Perks are sent to Local Guides only, so you should not receive any perk related mail if your work account is not registered to the Local Guides program.

When you want to reply to a specific person, please use the @ symbol, followed by the username of the person you are replying to. The system will automatically create a tag, and the mentioned person will be notified

@ErmesT Thank you very much for helping me with this issue. So, I did check, and my work email is no subscribed into anything. When I go to the website it is asking me to sign up for it (which I’m not trying to do).

I just have my personal email as a Local Guide, I tried checking emails that I have received and just the perks emails are going to my work account, and this perks emails are related to the only profile that I have(my personal account) So, I still don’t understand why some emails are being send to a different account than the one that is registered. Thanks again :slight_smile:

Well, this is quite strange @Karlagmcol7

The perks related emails need to have two conditions for being sent:

You have to set your profile to tell Google that you want to receive it

You have to give a location, because frequently perks are only available in some specific area

Please check your settings in both profile. Here is the link:
