El Puerto de Veracruz and it's food.

Long time no see.

Hope everyone is enjoying their best life, today I wanna share with you a couple of my opinions in regards Veracruz and it’s food.

First off all, let’s start with the most convenient time to visit "El Puerto", that has to be during late summer or autumn, it’s not way to hot and it already stopped raining.

Now that we have covered that, you will mainly get recommendations of visiting

“La Parroquia de Veracruz”

Their food is classic and there is a lot of history behind it, don’t get me wrong the flavors go from Ok to Good, but not fantastic.

Enjoy “Las Picadas” (Corn tick tortilla with animal fat on it, salsa of your choice and queso fresco).

A must is their “Lechero” (whole milk or free of lactose milk with their very tasty roasted coffee).

Pricing goes from $$-$$$.

Second recommendation it’s full of tradition:

Antojitos Veracruzanos Samborcito

Very close to the beach you will get the full experience, it’s a very powerful place, with the traditional roof and an open kitchen, founded in the early 80’s, here you can taste the home made flavours and presentations, their waitresses are super friendly and the amount of food that you will get will exceed your expectations.

Start with their traditional "Empanada de queso" (Corn dough mixed with cheese or quesillo, comes with lettuce, cheese, sour cream and sauce with comino that tastes like heaven), I asked for a “Jugo Verde” (Nopal, celery, pineapple and orange juice).

A must that you need to taste are their popular "Huevos Tirados" (Mixture of egg and black beans), you can also add “Picaditas” and share it with your family or companion.

They also serve kid friendly dishes like pancakes, which are fluffy and tasty.

Pricing goes from $$-$$$.

If you visit El Puerto de Veracruz please do not miss the chance of eating at this delightful places.

Both restaurants offer the same food but the experience and flavour is different.

Take the time to check them both and choose your winner.

What a mouth-watering post, @LillianMejia !

I must say, all of the menu items you shared looked amazing. Here in the states, we always enjoy eggs and black beans but I’ve never blended them before as you shared in the Huevos Tirados. This is a must-try for me!

Also, the photo of the Jugo Verde looks so interesting. What flavor comes out on top in that drink?
