Ist diese Funktion schon irgendjemand aufgefallen.
Ich meine damit die Kamera neben meinem Profilbild.
Ich habe darauf getippt und dann wird ein Bild angezeigt. Ich soll dann weiter gehen und es testen.
Leider liege ich im Krankenhaus und bin angebunden an Geräten.
Sehr Schade ich würde es liebend gerne ausprobieren.

I dont see it under my profile. We have suggested repeatedly to have links from the Maps app to Connect. This could be a test of this.

I checked in both Google Maps and Connect
on both mobile and desktop 
Probably the feature is not available in some geographies.
Hallo @Annaelisa ist das die Android oder die Apple (iPhone) App? Bei mir auf Android sehe ich das Icon leider auch nicht.

I don’t have that “camera” in my profile in Google Maps, @Annaelisa
So we will have to wait for your test to know what is the purpose of the camera.
Morten is right, it is identical to the symbol of Google Lens. Interesting
But I can’t understand how that symbol could be in some way a test to link Connect on Google Maps 
Ahhh, finally I understand what @Annaelisa was trying to draw our attention to.
I have the Google Lens icon between the microphone and my profile pic all over in my Android Maps app. As seen below.
It is a new way of searching in Maps.
When you tap the Google Lens this appears:
If you then leave the demo by tapping Start your camera opens and you turn your phone to look around nearby Maps pins will be super imposed on to what your camera show to tell you what is near by.
I recall some announcement and Instagram vids bragging that we soon will be able to search with camera. This is probably it.
It might be helpful when you feel lost or have a problem with knowing where north and south are in real life (like me).

I don’t have the Lens icon yet and I am using an android as well.
Is there a way to have the Lens icon in Maps?
I have updated Maps app and also Android is up-to-date.
I have not done anything to set this up. I think this is a serverside thing.
