Manchester is on the map…and thanks to all the attendees at EuroMeetUp 2024 (from 6th - 9th June) it’s better known, better understood and better loved.
35 attendees from various locations around the UK, across Europe representing 14 countries, and indeed across the world (from California and Australia) met together in Manchester, UK to reinforce old friendships, forge new friendships, and to continue to build the Connect community.
Some had made tremendous - almost epic - efforts to be here, including travelling from country to country to get the appropriate visas. Wow!
During the course of the long weekend, we went on water, explored historical locations, visited museums and galleries, discovered arts and crafts, party bicycled, photo-walked, food-photoed, invited the public to find out more of who we are, and of course we even had a bit of time to eat, drink and enjoy the social side of life.
It was a great weekend and a great community MeetUp, so we ( @AdrianLunsong and I, who co-hosted the MeetUp) just wanted to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported either from far off with encouragement and good wishes, or by travelling to be with us and contribute with their feet on the ground. Thank you! Here’s to another EuroMeetUp soon!
A great recap @PeteMHW . Thank you for all the photos and I love the different breakout sessions that you describe. All this just highlighted even more, what I missed out on
The meetup was fascinating. Thank you @PeteMHW and @AdrianLunsong for making all the effort to organise everything and introduce Manchester to us! It’s a lovely city that I 'd love to visit again and explore all the things I missed due to my late arrival and even more, and of course to meet you, wonderful people!
It was a pleasure to meet offline all the fellow Local Guides whose messages I’ve read on Connect
Hahaha, I love your sense of humor, @PeteMHW ! Thank you for this fun recap.
As for the EuroMeetup - it was such a fantastic event! A ginormous thank you to you and @AdrianLunsong for organizing everything so perfectly. We were blown away! My partner and I still talk about it with a bit of nostalgia.
Please also say thank you to your amazing friends who took us for boat rides, told us more about the history of Manchester, and showed us around some of its cultural gems.
I echo the words of @DeniGu blown away is an understatement. The level of event you and Adrian pulled off is amazing and right up there with the big budget events. You two should be incredibly proud of yourselves @PeteMHW and @AdrianLunsong
