Edits on Google Maps

Here is an example of a problem. There are a lot of places in my city where the address data in Gmaps is totally messed up. Edits often get rejected for address changes, and sometimes the job is just too big - a small mall / shopping centre for example. I want to contact local guides so we can discuss, reach agreement and act together to fix the problem. We need something to help us find each other. Submitting edits is a bit of a black hole. Approved or rejected, there is no negotiation. But I live here! I know I’m right! Need backup!

Would it be too radical (considering this is about Gmaps!) to maybe be able to draw a polygon on a map of our area of interest? Don’t see any privacy issues. I don’t have to draw the polygon if I don’t want to. Same applies to social media?

Hello @ChrisHevey ,

Thanks for sharing.

I’ve moved out your post from the Idea Exchange section, to How-tos, as it fits better here.

You can use the Suggest edits to a place or flag it for removal article or take a look at the Google Maps Help Center.

Thanks for that. I thought I was posting that in reply to another thread, but I must have messed up.

To clarify, we need a way of finding other local guides in the same area who also want to be contacted so we can discuss local issues that would bore the wider community. The real-world meet ups would not be right for this. Needs to be online, maybe something in gmaps itself?
