Recently most of my edits or place creation are instantly denied, even though I add most if not all of the details with pictures to support it. Before almost any edit or place creation would get approved.
Also notice the starbucks location with 6 pins which I tried to fix a month ago when it was only 2 pins with edits not being approved yet, however google is accepting all of these duplicates instantly!!
Is there some problem happening with maps algorithms??
Also a couple of weeks ago I was at a shopping area and decided to add missing stores with multiple pictures and complete details but were all denied, even the small edits such as fixing the name or adding it in english were denied.
The Google algorithms analyze different factors, such as the information submitted, the location of the input, your mapping activity, and other factors to make sure everything added to the map is accurate and follows our guidelines.
There are regions around the world where there simply is not enough information for some edits to come through successfully or immediately and it certainly has nothing to do with you personally. The more information you (or other Local Guides) collect about a place gives your input a better chance of getting through.
Hi @BaderJF . I’m sorry to hear that. If your editions were denied, it means that Google Maps was not able to confirm your suggestions at this time. Google is working continually to improve this process, and I hope that it doesn’t discourage you from contributing to Google Maps. You can refer to this link to learn more about it.
I would like to let you know that due to privacy matters, we shouldn’t share information about the places we are editing. I suggest you remove these photos.
Canned answers are not always very helpful or relevant to the specific questions asked. Or they leave you with a lot of guessing to do. Maybe these remarks are slightly more usable:
I assume that one of two things could be the reason for the problems you suddenly experience:
You could somehow have compromised one or more of the high trust scores your had earlier. This can happen if you make edits that should not have been done or post some spam etc.
There can be a new general and temporary ban on user contributed content in your area. Maybe due to increasing problem with spam contamination the map.
You could reach out to other active local guides in Doha to hear if they are experiencing similar problems. That could be an indication of reason 2) is the problem.
There is no ban or anything as I have created another account for testing and edits get accepted which is unfortunate for google to accept edits in a new account.
Sorry there us no way to know our trust-scores. Google keep this to themselves. For a good reason I think. If public it would be a lot easier to put spam on the map.
You are not allowed to have more than one account. But if your primary account are not allowed to do what a new account can do then you are likely to have a trust-score account.
