Road edits can be suggested, and there is a road editing tool. I’ve used it and suggestion accepted - not sure if auto or manual review of suggestion.
However, no equivalent feature for areas, like parks, or a creek which is shown open but in fact underground.
Any plans for those capabilities to be added?
I’ve searched and others have asked similar questions in how-tos and about getting boundaries or areas fixed. Which need to go forward as suggestions. But as far I can tell no way to actually put a google map based boundary suggestion in. Could use external tools to edit a screengrab image. But clumsy. Just wondering if ability to edit areas and boundaries is planned as part of local guide map toolbox.
There is no plan to bring again the ability of editing boundaries to users. Such a tool retired several years before, and even it wasn’t available in the last phase of Map Maker.
Due to the spam activities of some users, Google completely disabled drawing boundaries for users. Instead, it uses satellite imagery to update the boundaries of the areas like Parks. For other boundaries such as cities, it uses official maps as a source to update Google Maps.
But users can always report any problem even if there is no specific tool to fix it on the map. Just visit the Maps forum and ask for a fix by preparing official sources to support your request. Experts there will help and escalate the case for fixing/adding data such as boundaries.
