May I allowed to use a compiled video like the one linked below for review? Videos can include music and text.

Is this against Google Map policy?

Great question.

I believe Google welcomes such videos on Maps, but keep in mind there is a filter detecting copyright protected music. The audio will be cut if this filter is triggered.

In my area, it is extremely rare to see this type of video posted in a review. I would love to do so, but I don’t see any mention of this in the Google Maps Policy.

To me this looks like a tiktok or Instagram video that gets reposted on Maps. At several occasions Googlers have explained how they strive to give a more dynamic and interesting presentation of places by showing more videos.

Let us ask @DeniGu for guideline clarification on uploading videos with music and superimposed texts to Maps.

This is a good question.

According to Masa, one of Google Maps’ Product Managers,

Answer from Masa: We like both kinds of videos. People find them helpful in different contexts. Raw, simple, and short videos are helpful for people trying to make a decision. They want to see videos of dishes/products, and interior/exterior pans. More edited, slightly longer videos are good for people looking for ideas for places to go, and not yet ready to make a decision. They like to see other people experiencing or enjoying a place, to help them picture what it might be like if they went there. Copyright is definitely an issue — be sure to use royalty-free or public domain audio tracks. But we also hear that sometimes viewers find background music distracting and they want to hear what the place sounds like as well.
