Title basically says it all. Nearly 2 weeks ago, I received an email saying my path creation edit was published. However, it’s now been nearly 2 weeks and my edit still does not appear on the Map.
I know that usually after receiving such an email, the edit will become visible within 24-48 hours. However, this path is still not appearing. Perhaps somebody forgot to confirm the edit as verified? I’m not sure… any tips?
I did also post a map photo and an address in my original post but I’m sure a link is handier!
I’m aware that it takes time for new paths or roads to appear, though from my experience, they do usually appear within a few days, hence my confusion with this particular edit! Anyway, thanks again!
Normally such a path would not be drawn separately from the road. Parallel paths are to be combined in with the existing road; thus the trail is joined up at the road at 54.355653, -7.626231 and then the sidewalk attributes of the road are used to indicate what can be done on the parallel trail. Google acknowledging your edit but then not making any changes is to be expected; this is their way of not putting a denial on your record when your edit was well meaning.
What’s not clear in your description of the issue is that bikes cannot use that segment because it is stairs. I’d recommend making the edit again, but including in your description “Parallel path needs to be drawn in as bikes cannot rejoin road due to stairs at 54.355653, -7.626231, and thus must continue south to 54.352371, -7.624693 before they can join the road.” However, it still could be argued that all of this is evident when actually there and thus Google might still not draw in the parallel road; this is an edge case that could go either way.

I will follow your last piece of advice and suggest it again, though I’d also not be surprised if it’s rejected again for the same reason - I guess I’ll only find out if I try!
On a side note, something that’s always puzzled me is that Local Guides are not provided with an online document of some sort stating the criteria under which road/path additions are accepted or refused. Knowing the criteria ourselves would definitely help clear issues like this up!
