In Google map, the edit count under my profile is 27 and the edit count under the edit sec also adds upto almost the same. However, the edit count under the edit badge is just 10.
Why is this mismatch? Its there for months so I don’t feel its an update issue but something different.

As far as I know a few types of edits do count towards the number of edits on your contribution stats page while they do not count towards your badges. These include adding captions under photos. I don’t have the full list.
