Edit button in profile page

Hi all,

I noticed that in all public profiles there is an Edit button at the top which is, obviously, not working (unless you are visiting your own profile).

I think this is a bug and should be removed from the UI.

@pezzin that is because you can only edit your profile and posts. You aren’t allowed to edit anyone else’s profile or posts.

Hi @TheEagleEye , thanks for your feedback. Exactly for this reason, when you are viewing somebody else’s profile I guess the button should not be there. Just a UI tip. Thanks.

I do agree with @TheEagleEye there is no such button presence on her profile. Can you check again and confirm if it is still there.

I’m tagging here google moderator @FelipePK to look into it.

Unusual @pezzin as I don’t see the same. Moderators better fix this if @pezzin is able to edit other profiles.

Just to clarify this, I cannot edit other people profile. I can only see the Edit button, but when I click on it I get an error message (at least this is ok).

While visiting Local Guides’ or others’ profile, I get to see these options there- Edit & Settings; I think they shouldn’t be here.

I know Google directly doesn’t maintain this connect website, however, just wanted to let you guys know; hope you would be solving/removing this problem/bug/something soon.

@asifMojtoba - Two points here:

The Icon will take to you to your own profile but i will never take you to other profile.
“Edit” Option - One you click the “Edit” option, you will see below Error. May be it’s for Google Moderators to check the settings / some reason.

I agree to remove “EDIT” option to be removed which is not useful for anyone here.

Just to be sure, would you mind checking just in case if the issue would be currently on, as it seems that there would be a similar case earlier on, Edit button in profile page?
