Eat fried fish on the Kuakata Sea Beach

Kuakata is a beautiful place in the southern part of Bangladesh known as Sagarkanya. Located in Latachapali Union of Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali District, this place has the most attractive beach in Bangladesh. There is no other place in the country where you can watch the sunrise and sunset from the same beach. Apart from endless beautiful beaches, Kuakata has many other attractions to visit.

At this beach in Kuakata, locals are seen fishing with nets and small boats every morning and afternoon. Kuakata can be the ideal place to eat any fish at low prices. If you go around the beach, you will see some temporary shops that sell grilled or fried fish caught from the sea at different prices.

The fish fry market is now the night attraction for tourists at Kuakata beach in Patuakhali. Come here and after wandering around all day, go down to the beach in the evening in search of tranquility. Rows of shops can be seen east and west from zero point of the beach. It will seem like a sea fish market. You can buy and fry fish of your choice from here.

After evening, the shops on the beach are lined with Tuna, Coral, Pama croaker, Bombay Duck, Bagni, Salmon, Trout barb, Rupsha, Indian salmon, Pom fret and other species of fish. Apart from this, there are various species of Jellyfish, Pale-edged stingray, Octopus, Shrimp, Crab and an unknown variety of marine animals. If you buy your favorite fish from these, the shopkeepers will fry or barbecue it as you like. Available with required sauces, salads, soft drinks and even hot parathas.

There each shrimp is Tk 50 to Tk 500, Crab Tk 50 to Tk 150, Rupsha Tk 100 to Tk 500, Pom fret Tk 100 to Tk 500, Salmon Tk 300 to Tk 500, Coral Tk 500 to Tk 2,000, Indian salmon Tk 500 to Tk 700, Bombay Duck Tk 30 to Tk 50, Hilsa Tk 100 to Tk 500, Tuna 200 to 1 thousand, Octopus 200 to 500, Squid 50 to 500, bamboo leaves 100 to 200, Pale-edged stingray 50 to 100, Seaweed 200 to 500, Khata is sold for 300 to 1 thousand.

There are more than 50 shops here. From evening till late night time can be spent at fish fry market. Fresh fish is available.

The tea shop has different flavors of tea. Tandoori tea, Chocolate tea, Strawberry tea, Cashew nut tea etc. are the varieties of tea.

I include here video of fried shrimp.

How to go:

Kuakata can be reached from Dhaka by river and road. The easiest way to travel is from Sadarghat in Dhaka by launch to Patuakhali, from there by bus to Kuakata.
