Google Maps has made it super easy to contribute. You can choose how much time to spend each time you give a review. With just one click you can give a star review or post a photo of a place. One minute to write a review, and few minutes for a detailed review. Points are given based on the activity. Google, you got me hooked!
There have been many reviews that have helped me. I have learned to trust the peer-review and to interpret them. Sometimes the reviews conflict with each other, some to embrace and some to criticize. And in many cases, both are correct. For example, when I am looking for a quiet place, I avoid the places with comments about noise. However, when I want to experience the authentic vibes, I would ignore those same complaints. For this reason, every review is important. They reflect the feelings, the vibes, from personal points of views, which for me is much more valuable than any deliberate and well calculated marketing texts.
For me, the reviews of other users have been a great help. They have helped me to write better and the kind of reviews I think and believe would be useful for other users as well. I try to concentrate on that.
Because I have received so much it feels good to give something back. That’s why I love to share my own experiences.
