Hello Dear Local Guides;
I think I’ve started to guide people on Google Maps roughly 5 years ago. Since that day having notifications about how much my comments or photos seen, lead me to do more and then i became a regular.
My regular job is a PR and Tourism agent for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and i started work there 2 years ago. We have huge tourist flow in the city and most of them starts their journey in our office with getting new tips which they can’t find without having a conversation with a local. I told you i’ve started to correct things in Maps before getting my regular job but in last 2 years i’ve noticed i can help more and more people without having a single word together.
Istanbul is huge by numbers and with the cultural diversity so reading guide books won’t give you a chance to see the contrast, the other dimensions of this beauty. So Google Maps is a great platform for true, non-profit, helpful and simple information.
Every single day i am trying to correct, add, comment and add photos about most famous and most secret beauties of the city. When I notice a photo of mine had seen by thousands it makes me smile and encourage to do more and help.
Making the life simple and exciting for others with the device in our hand every second is a huge satisfactory and i am advicing you to try this also, you will thank me later.
See you for now, Yildlrim.
