60-symbolizes how long the event lasts.Plus-you can hold this action as much as you want.
This action is held on the last Saturday of March to draw people’s attention to problem of climate change,pollution and other environmental problem.Economical consumption of electricity,heat,take care of use of water,make a choice in favour of recycling paper to stop deforestation,because the EARTH-OUR COMMON HOME!

We do the Earth Hour event every year in Bulgaria too. It’s one of my favorite celebrations actually with all the fire-dancers in front of the National Theater in the capital and smaller events around the country. One of my favorites is the organization in Varna because the way town square turns into a black hole. It’s like the world there disappears for an hour. During the last couple of years, I am at home doing board games with my flatmates under the light of couple of candles. We do marshmallow baking over candles as well
