E-commerce or internet shops

Hello everyone, I hope that I’m alone in not knowing how to review an internet shop (e-commerce or similar without a physical store). So, I’m looking forward reading lots of tips on how to do it.

All the best

Hi @I-am-Q , A physical shop (POI) can be added to Google Maps since it’s a place people might visit. However, online operations cannot be added to the maps, so I online aspects cannot be reviewed.
Kindly take a look at this

Thanks @PrasadVR , then I might not be alone in not knowing

Hi @I-am-Q,

You’re not alone! Reviewing an internet shop (like e-commerce or online-only stores) can be a bit tricky since Google Maps primarily focuses on businesses with physical locations.

If the store you’re referring to has a physical presence, it can definitely be listed on Google Maps. However, if it’s strictly an online business, it won’t qualify for a listing on Maps.

If you happen to speak with the store owner and they’re unsure about how to get listed, you can guide them through the process of adding their business on Google Maps by visiting Google My Business. Just ensure the business meets Maps guidelines and has a physical location customers can visit.

Thanks for your question, @I-am-Q .
You cannot use Google Maps to review a place that is not in Google Maps and, as mentioned by others, “Businesses with no physical presence or local service area (e.g. call centers, online-only businesses)” are not eligible for Google Maps.
For more details please read: Business & place eligibility - Maps User Contributed Content Policy Help
Sometimes online-only businesses are wrongly added in Google Maps, and the proper think to do in such case is to remove them, because not accessible to the public.
When we talk about Google Maps we must always keep in mind that we are talking about a digital representation of a “physical” world, made up of streets, shops that people can visit, parks, restaurants.
To review online shops there are other platforms, which deal with online purchases, and Google Maps is not among them.

Thank you @ErmesT and you all. How about reviewing their headquarters which de facto represents such business in real life and they are on the map?

Do you have a personal experience of the headquarter, @I-am-Q ?
Have you visited the place?
How was it?
How long did you had to wait for being admitted?
Was easy to find a parking area near the entrance?
Did you had to make a reservation for visiting them?
If you can respond to all my questions yes, you can write a review about them.
Otherwise, better not, because it doesn’t pertains to a real experience about the place.
FYI: The text in italics is one of the reasons to report a review

Thank you for your guiding questions @ErmesT . I think that I have personal experience. Let me explain.

After waiting for more than 30 minutes (I called them), I got to talk to their customer service about their late and non-contractual delivery. I would like to share with you that the medicine you order may very likely be delayed and their customer service cannot help you at all. I would also like to share that your delivery address may also change and you may have to go far to pick up your ordered medicines. What do you think, is that a real experience?

Yes, @I-am-Q , I think it is real
