Düsseldorf and me as local guide

My Name is Klaus and I am located in Düsseldorf, Germany. When my eye finds a motive that I like I point my camera at it. It doesn’t matter if it is a mobile phone camera or a DSLR doesn’t matter. I mostly have a Backpack with my DSLR when I leave the house. Since I hardly use any kind of transport to get around I mostly have a lot of time to actually look at what I am seeing and I see what I am looking at. With that said mostly I use my DSLR for Miniature photography while I use my mobile for quick shots. Quite often I take pictures of locations in Düsseldorf “by chance” and decided I can share them to make Düsseldorf and its locations visually appealing to Locals and Visitors.

Although my main topic requires only small spots for taking images I often take opportunity of light, weather and mood for normal, scenic shots. And Düsseldorf has loads of potential spots for great pictures. Take the Waterfront of Düsseldorf Altstadt where you can snap amazing pictures at sunset. So, that is when I started. I had all my images including DSLR in Google Photos since I uploade them and I was asked to share my experinces when I was using Google Maps on my Nexus Phone. One thing went to the other, a couple of ratings, a closed shop an some simple yes/no questions later I started linking my pictures to the places as well. Now I am a Google Local Guide.

Pleast also have a look at a List I started over at Google Maps: “Photo Hotspots Düsseldorf” where I am compiling a List of locations around Düsseldorf where I land others think good pictures can be taken.

Love to hear from you, especially when here in Düsseldorf

cheers - Klaus

You take photos very professional. Is photography your hobby or also a job?
