Duluth, MN. Traveling around places that far from busy tourist routes.

I love to travel and often visit places that far from busy tourist routes.
Today I would like to say about one Northern American city.
It is located on a steep mountainside on the shores of the largest freshwater lake in the world.
Let me introduce: Duluth, MN.

Look at the building in the picture below. What is it? The first thought is Hogwarts from “Harry Potter”.
Not. It’s hard to guess, but this is a regular public school.

The school clock tower slightly lower than the famous English London Big Ben.
How is this possible?
The fact is that a hundred years ago this small town was a real city of millionaires.
In 1900-1910 the port of Duluth handled more cargo than ports of Chicago and New York.
As a result - in the downtown are many beautiful buildings with original style.

City of millionaires in the past, today Duluth is student city: there are two big and popular educational institution, College of Saint Scholastica and UMD.
