The power of drums and how they unite us all.
The Ohum Festival is celebrated by the people of Akyem Abuakwa and it environs. The festival is usher in the new yam( outdooring the eating the new yam within the specific season, bumper harvest).
The festival helps foster relationships, community project are planned ahead, health screening for community, health walk, cleaning and games are put in places.
It is also used to promote our culture values and ethics as a community.
The theme for last year celebration was ‘‘EDUCATION FOR ALL: A TOOL FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT’’
I was part of those who organised the health screening and the general cleaning of the community
