Yala park in the deep South of Sri Lanka is a great place to engage in wildlife photography. The park has the highest leopards density in the world. Sri Lankan leopards are bigger than leopards in Africa and India because unlike in Africa and India leopards in Sri Lanka has no competition for food since they are the apex predictors on the island.
Hi @CharithaJB ,
Thanks for the wonderful photos of leopard!
I didn’t know that leopards from Sri Lanka are bigger than the others. Was it very dangerous to capture it? At which distance did you capture it?

Take pictures of Leopard ,BIG NOO … scary what if suddenly attack for me . How you dare @CharithaJB ?
Thank you @PoliMC
This leopard was at some distance from where I was so had to use the zoom lens to take its picture cause not allowed to venture away from the road inside the park.
Thanks @Nyainurjanah ! This leopard was actually not close from where I was but sometimes they walk on the road inside the park in front of your vehicle or can be seen eating its kill on the road side but have to be exceptionally lucky to see them that close. The best times to see them are in the mornings and in the evenings because they avoid coming out of the forest in the midday heat. They ignore humans, as if we are non existent and it is our responsibility not to do anything to provoke them. Also, visitors to the park are not allowed to get off the vehicle other than in designated areas.
