@Gurukrishnapriya Thanks for tagging.it’s good topic to discuss, I like bike ride, daily I used to go office by bike. We have to do care even bike or car while driving. Follow signals during traffic and crowded places. Safety is main thing here from wearing seat belts while driving car and wear helmet during bike ride. Also we have to do regular services of our car and bike which gives us smooth drive. Regularly check fuels, brakes, air for tyres.

@Gurukrishnapriya Hello,

Driving is one of the things I love especially on a vacation.

Right from my childhood ( and being a boy) I was fascinated when my father used to take me in his Vanguard car. Started to learn when I was 11 years old when my elder brother coached me (with a help of pillows on my back) because my feet could barely reach the pedals.

Initially I used to drive fast but along the years you mellow down especially if you live in Bangalore which is supposed to the worst place for the traffic.

If you are stuck in a traffic, I ask myself “what can i do right now/?”…You can listen to FM or observe the other cars and riders, their reaction . , Because the more you are resisting , the more frustrated you get. so go with the flow and enjoy the journey.

In 1997, my first trip abroad, that too to Germany. I was completely blown by the discipline in driving cars but that was really an education.

So Gurupriya, go ahead and learn driving. You need to conquer your fears. Because in Driving, the earlier you start the better…but never too late

Cheers

Hi @Dinakar1

Thanks for your encouraging me to learn driving. I don’t have confidence. Everyone in my family knows driving except me.

I was surprised to note that you started learning at a very young age. Nice to know that you like driving.

Not only Bangalore, many cities, like Calcutta, Andheri, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai I have experienced the pinch of traffic jams.

As you have mentioned the traffic rules and discipline is really good in other countries. There too we have traffic jams, but well organized.

Hope here too we will get the change.

Happy driving.

@Gurukrishnapriya It an interesting topic to discuss, thank you for sharing it with us. Driving is an activity which gives me pleasure and enjoyment. Mostly i use my motorcycle or scooty for city commutes, due to soaring prices of fuel and moreover indian cities are very congested and finding a parking spot is very difficult in cities so i only use car for visiting places which have designated parking or area where parking spots are easy to find.

Sometimes when i don’t get chance to use my car, i just take it on a highway for a long drive for keeping its components in good shape.

When using two wheelers i always use helmet, follow rules like traffic lights, i always use turn indicators while turning. We all need to follow the traffic strictly because it is the matter of precious lives. India is among the countries which have largest number of accidents and accident related deaths every year.

That’s great @saraswatN . Of course driving gives pleasure. I heard it from everyone. But don’t know why I am afraid of it, especially two wheelers.

In fact I am not afraid to go in a rollercoaster or giant wheel and all such rides.

I appreciate your concern about following the traffic rules. Yes something has to be done in this regard.

@Gurukrishnapriya , driving is my biggest passion. I have drove in the mountains of Himalayas, desert of Rajasthan, beaches of Goa, covering most part of India. Nothing matches the thrill of road trip.

Hi @Gurukrishnapriya Ma’am,

A unique post started by you. Kudos !!!

Driving is the most awesome thing for me - be it car, motorcycle, scooter or bicycle. I love driving all, esp. during early morning when the roads generally remain free.
