I went to Rajshahi College to take some photos. There were many other girls there too. I wear the hijab and try to follow Islamic guidelines, but that doesn’t stop me from doing what I love—exploring, taking photos, and sharing them on Google Maps.
While I was taking pictures, I noticed people watching me. Some said, “Look, that girl is taking photos while wearing a hijab!” Others smiled and said, “Wow, a photographer!” One girl even told her friend, “She looks so different, in a good way!”
Their words made me feel proud. Many people think that girls who wear hijab are different or limited in what they can do. That we cannot live life like others. But I want to break that idea.
There was a time when I also thought I wouldn’t be able to do many things. But now, I know that if you have the will, you will find a way. Even while following Islamic values, a girl can follow her dreams, do meaningful work, and inspire others.
