I was thinking that when we edit something or some place on Google it show us under review. which takes time to update and verify by other
My thoughts are that what if Google give local guide verification by which if a verified guide update the place it will update without any review at that time afterwards it will be reviewed by others.
But don’t you all think that we want that power to update and make maps more easier than ever
It’s important to remember that Google has strict guidelines and protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of information on Maps., @devtheguide ! Verification is not just about having the power to make changes but also the responsibility to ensure that the information provided is correct and up-to-date. Local guides can still make a significant contribution to improving Maps by providing accurate and helpful information, even without verification status.
But, I understand those situations where spammers get more power but the thing which I try to say is that what if Google verify guide based on their contribution this what I am trying to say.
( @Hope ) You are right I know those things again I am saying is please consider my reply to @MortenCopenhagen in which I express my thoughts on verification
I think it’s good for us to end thing things here because I don’t think we can get any meaningful outcome from this. By the way thank you for your suggestions and time.
I am sure that we will continue interacting like this, right?
In the past, Google attempted to grant “trusted” status to certain “regional leaders” in Map Maker, @devtheguide . But,in 2015, a person created a urinating image on Google Maps that pointed toward the Apple logo on the roof of one of its facilities in Pakistan. The image was visible on Google Maps for a few hours before it was taken down by Google. The incident became a major embarrassment for Google, as it showed how easily someone could manipulate the platform to create such offensive content. Google issued a statement apologizing for the incident and stating that they had taken measures to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
This incident highlighted the importance of maintaining the integrity of Google Maps and the potential consequences of allowing “trusted” users to edit and add information without proper checks and balances. It also showed how quickly offensive content can spread on the internet, even when it is only visible for a short amount of time.
Allowing trusted individuals to make changes without verification can compromise the integrity of the information on Maps. Google is committed to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the information on Maps, and it’s important to have proper checks in place to ensure the quality of the data.

Vandalização do Google Mapas.
