Doing more on Maps & local guide connect

Google Maps is a great way finding utility… true but when you are in trouble or have lost your way in life, can it come to rescue or throw a life line to you ?

… By trouble, I don’t mean trouble with law but the on line local community does have the potential to help the deprived by serving as a beacon of light directing them to way out of a morass of problems.

◆ Children in slums and squatter settlements will benifit from a local guide tour organised jointly with welfare organisation or patrons.

◆ Local schools can be visited by guides to showcase the flora & fauna of our neighborhood, with subject matter specialists.

Meaningful activities giving Google and local guides a role to play in shaping their surroundings rather than just reporting & recording it’s beauty on maps.

Hello @SanjaySrivastava59 ,

Indeed this will be a great activity that will give a positive impact to the society.

I think our meet-up platform is the perfect place for you to start and many of our Local Guides had create many amazing activities to inspire others to join your cause or share tips for ways people can make a difference in their local neighborhoods.

I recommend reading this post How to Organize a Local Guides Meet-Up which gives you helpful ideas on the types of activities you can plan and some guidance and tips for helping you organize a successful event.

On the other hand One of the great post you can read is about Google Maps towards Rural

Greens by @IlankovanT where he shared his digital knowledge to young people in the rural area.

In addition to that I am moving your post to the Local Stories topic label.
