I often use this. Because I do not like to ask “what do you do now?”
You might feel it will be dangerous. At first I also felt dangerous my location was shared to my friends.
But I have shared my location to my friends for over 1 years. google map position sharing is useful.
Especially foreign Countries friends is fun to use this!

@hochi I use it sometimes when I need to share my location with others. Why it would be dangerous when I only share this with my friends and family?

Hi @SaifIS ＠ Have you ever shared your location your girlfriend or wife?
If your girlfriend or wife will ask you to share your location always to her? What do you response?
Location Sharing is useful but there is some risk of privasy I think.
So my friends rarely permit me share location. I thoght it not so much risk.

@hochi No have not as I don’t have wife or girlfriend. 
I understand your concern. That is the other side effect of this feature.
But still, it is a useful feature.

When GPS is disabled, It shows “OFFLINE”. I hate this. Because Sometimes I want to hide my location.
So I use 2 devices. location sharing device is only 1 device. the other device is not use to share location.
Tap “Location Sharing” of Google Map, “This device do not send update infomation.”— Modify.
You can select location sharing device.
If you required to hide your location, please use this. lol
Location sharing is very useful I know, too.

位置共有は将来的にもっと活用されるようになると思っています。待ち合わせなんか位置共有使えばすごくストレスが緩和されると思うのです。
来ないイライラから解放されるだけでなく、寝坊している人もリアルタイムで確認できますし、寝坊を未然に防ぐことも可能となります。
ただやっぱりプライバシーの問題が発生するのでその辺を対処する機能が少しだけほしいですね。
というのもどうしても位置を知られたくないところに行くことも時々ありますしね(笑
日本語で書けるとなんか安心しますね(笑)
翻訳に頼って今度は日本語で投稿してみようと思います。自分の英語より翻訳の英語のほうが正確かもしれませんので(^^;
