Now we can use this form to appeal to the Local Guides team. As of now, we can appeal using this form in two cases. One is for disappearing a lot of contribution and another one is suspension from the program. It says “Fill out this form if you’ve noticed many of your contributions have been removed, or if you have been removed from the Local Guides program.” In the form, you can choose the specific issue you are facing. These are as follow.
Previously we had to contact the team using social channels. But now this is easier for us. I thank you the team for implementing the form. We expect to see more initiative to help local guides.
I have not heard about the form in the connect or anywhere else. So I thought it’s good to share the news with my fellows. Hope you like knowing this. Spread the news to other local guides and help the local guides with this form who need this.
We don’t need, in any case, to address any suspended Local Guide because, according to @TraciC 's reply “they’re directed to the Help Center to learn why they have been removed from the program.” The appeal form is in there
This is probably the reason why we don’t see anymore the usual series of post from suspended Local Guides
Hi @SaifIS this is a great improvement by the team.
I have noticed from most of your posts that you use the option open in current page, this makes it difficult to read from both posts at once, since you have to close the other post to open another. It will be best to use the the other option as stated bellow.
When adding links to your posts is always easy to read from both posts if you use Open in a new age as shown from the screen short:
@Raphael-Mahumane Thank you for the tips with the screenshot. know but I intentionally do not do this because most of the user do not find it user-friendly especially when they are reading from a mobile browser. We all know that we can open in a new tab by tap+holding/right-clicking on links and choosing open in new tab from the menu.
But in this form we see options to check issues about for example Imagery, reviews, factual edits. So this is not only for suspended users.
I’m curious to know does it mean that we can also request for releasing our photo/reviews from smart filter?
For example I’ve nearly 100 photos, those are filtered and aren’t publicly visible, although all have good quality and also I’ve hardly followed the rules and policies of sharing photos. But this is decision of smart intelligence to filter them.
@Amiran As per the instruction if “many of your contributions” have been removed you can appeal*.* It doesn’t say any definite number. But as you are a level 10 local guide I think 100 private photos is pretty normal.
Yes @SaifIS , It seems normal in my total counts of photos but still I (and surely all users) prefer to have no filtered photos. Because of this I asked that to be sure is this also opportunity for such cases or not.
And as you correctly mentioned it says “many of your contributions” and so I’m not sure if it means exact number or percentage. If it refers to number then I prefer to say 100 is also kind of “Many”
@Amiran I understand it may be disappointing. But I believe this filter is blocking a huge number of spam/unwanted photos. But you know automatic filters don’t work as a human so a fraction of false positive is to happen.
Exactly true @SaifIS , I totally agree with having smart filter and saw many examples of accurate filtering. Even I’m waiting for presenting a harder filter by Google to automatically warn users about “copy” photos and reviews from web.
But it is good if this appeal form be a way for releasing good photos from smart filter by a human check. Although because of numerous requests users may have in this case, I think this is not the right usage of the form. But still an official response can help for best practice.
