Happy New Year everyone. Last Year I posted a similar post regarding yours and my New Year’s resolutions and invited other guides to join. You can read the post here.
This is an open invitation to all local guides to make your goals and resolutions public to all. Do you want to move up a level? Maybe add your first road, maybe take some videos, or do you want to try edits and help clean up the map? Maybe add some more reviews or try some captions?
There’s lots of guides here that can help you get started if you are unsure.
Last year I personally wanted to contribute 1000 videos and 1000 roads. I did achieve both, even adding 5000 roads. What should I try this year? In no particular order I want to:
Add another 5000 roads
Add another 1000 videos
Add 5000 more edits,
What are your goals??

@AdamGT I don’t know how you have time for everything now, let alone more goals. First of all Happy New year @TerryPG . Editing new local businesses to Maps and showing accessibility features to Maps is my kind of resolution for this year
I’d love to complete the development and release the 4 knockout T100 System features that I have been quietly working on behind the scences now for many, many months!

It really is quite simple if you follow the steps for the moment located here. And inb the post you’ll find many great examples that you can follow. Happy happy new year @TerryPG … in 2024, I just go with the flow. Although I’ve traveled more, yet time is not always that friendly to me so I missed many contributions I have intentionally planned to make.
Nevertheless, I sincerely hope I can add at least one high quality review per day in 2025, make it up whenever I miss one! let’s try to keep that fulfilled!

Thank you for tagging me. I am impressed, how you tracked all resolutions of 2024!
I have to admit, I am not a big fan of nor believer in New Years Resolutions. Anyway hoping to reach level 10 in 2025 by making as many photos of nice places like I always did in the past, but making sure not to miss any opportunity to post some on Maps, while continuing to track them all.
Apropos tracking, among the last photos of 2025 I posted yesterday, three got views within 12 hours while two photos (menu lists) are “semi hidden”. All food pictures have captions added on the mobile after uploading (not using the “Update” function) , as you can see here. The linked photo even saw an increase of views during the last three hours! @TerryPG

Last year: 1. Possibly reaching Level 9 - Done 2. Continuing to experiment with blue lines in high profile tourist areas - continuing to do 3. Continue to push the boundaries about what is possible to achieve with my iPhone on Google Maps - still doing that 4. Increase my own exposure and skill level in 360-degree virtual tours - I’ve learned a lot over the last 12 months 5. A couple of extra badges would be a bonus Expert Director specifically - I got Master Director and Master Fact Finder 6. A gift from the Easter Bunny (I think that’s what comes after Santa’s Sack) - I did OK but could have done better 7. I might try and sneak a competition in too - didn’t manage that
This year:
I am hoping to get the final two Master badges for Reviewer and Trailblazer
Experimenting with 360 spheres on Google Maps - drone spheres as well as ground shots
Continue developing my 360 degree virtual tour skills and business
Where there is appropriate overlap, create articles related to 360 degree spheres on Google Maps
Get out on my Google Maps mountain bike
Create some updated and new blue lines on foot and on my bike
Reach 250 million views
Understand how to use and navigate the new Connect interface - maybe that’s a goal too far!

If you reached level 9 you may have dropped back a bit. I looked at your Google Maps profile and saw a few things that could be holding you back.
Portrait images - try to avoid images that are portraits (the main subject of the photos and videos should be the business/location and its atmosphere)
Images must be your own - I saw what appears to be a postcard or advertising image at ‘Imagine That!’
Avoid uploading the same image multiple times, or images that are not significantly different, at the same location - Les Nubes de Holbox

I’ll jump in with some ideas for goals for 2025, which is more progression from last year really of balancing out some areas because i had never really done many edits and had 0 roads, and adding better quality… re writing reviews for a start, there is many many casual one line reviews going back 8 years now.
I’ve never really read these forums before until recently so so really looking forward to learning a bunch of new things this year and just getting out and about.
I’ve really gotta figure out edits, and how people are submitting so many edits. so that’s a target that will be difficult for me.
Roads should be do able, it’s just the % of approvals that kills me, but just learning more about that from info around here.

Project 1000 is continuing but nearly done with that (1000 approved submissions for each category …hmmm apart from Q&A (notified of 1 a month) and ratings)
