Do multiple edits on erroneous information in a POI become spam?

A few days back, I shared some hilarious and incorrect automatic translations of POI names to local language.

I submitted edits to correct some of these.
On that, I found the following responses,

  1. Immediate acceptance & the change is visible too.
  2. Edit accepted, and POI displays that notification. Surprisingly, the incorrect name continues even after a month.
  3. Altogether rejection.
  4. Edit is still under consideration.

Somehow, I am uncomfortable with the cases at Sr. no 2 & 3 & tempted to resubmit a fresh edit.
Would that become an attempt to spam?

@C_T AFAIK there is no such rule or policy. Personally, I’d try to submit edit for a maximum of 2 times. If nothing changes, I’d consider that the map is considering my changes wrong. And it will reject my future subsequent edits with the same information.

But I do not think it is spam to submit correct information multiple times.

Hello @C_T ,

The Google algorithms analyse different factors, such as the information submitted, the location of the input, your mapping activity, and other factors to make sure everything added to the map is accurate and follows our guidelines.

There are regions around the world where there simply is not enough information for some edits to come through successfully or immediately and it certainly has nothing to do with you personally. The more information you (or other Local Guides) collect about a place gives your input a better chance of getting through.

If you haven’t checked this post, feel free to do it, as it lays down different aspects, which I’m sure you’ll find helpful!

If you are looking to report an error on the map - please review the instructions in Report an error on the map.

Hi @C_T as @SaifIS and @MoniDi mentioned, the system require more information to accept the edit, for some areas you can try multiply times but it never accepts. I had the same problem my self but I got over it by understanding how the system operates.

Sometimes you can do even more than ten edits and all get accepted, sometimes they get accepted but they change may not take effect immediately. So, just understand it, its even better to work in a groups, if your edit does not get accepted then the other from your friend will get accepted, that is the power of meetups!
