Djoudj Park is the third ornithological park in the world.
It is located 60 kilometers north of Saint-Louis, on one of the meanders of the Senegal river. Encompassing part of the river, with numerous canals, coves, lakes, ponds, swamps and reed bouquets, as well as the surrounding areas of wooded savannah, the park covers 16,000 ha and has a body of water permanent, which attracts many species of birds.
Each year, around 3 million birds pass through the park, where nearly 400 species have been counted.
