Can you explain to me please what is the ‘permalink’ mentioned earlier?
Also how many places do I need to post my star photo?
And what is the top 100 leaderboard?
What do I need to update every month?

I’ve deleted it from the 2024 album.
I’ve also amended the caption and description.
Did I need to write the date and photo views in the caption? It’s in the photo.
@MariaNgo When you update your details on the Leaderboard System, it will auto generate a caption for you so all you have to do is simply cut and paste it into your Connect post. It will create the caption with all the necessary details

A permalink is a way to share with other users a place, a photo or review … etc on Google Maps or a comment here on Local Guides Connect or some other Web sites.
On Google Maps or here on Connect watch for the share button (marked in red on my screenshot:
then click the blue button:
The link is copied to your clipboard and you can paste into a comment here or any message sending to others.
As far as I know, it is only the album. But you should also add information about the photo into the Leaderboard System.
Each month, @AdamGT posts several leaderboards. You can find the links here.
In the Leaderboard System we should monthly update the data of our activities on Google Maps, such as number of photos/videos/reviews posted, the number of views the posts gained … etc. Those are all numbers, you find in your Google Maps profile. The Leaderboard System explains step by step how to do so.
Those numbers are the base for the monthly leaderbords, but also allow you to track your activities over time.

@Annaelisa if an LG gets a new star it can be added to the album, but the permalink on the Top100 Leaderboard page needs to be changed to point to the newer one.
I did this during last year when one of my newer videos reached a higher number of views than my old one.

For your first attempt you’ve done really well so congratulations. With the aid of the image below, I’ve made a few suggestions on how you can improve your star photo listing on the album. Look at the many examples in star photo album to see how others have done this.
- If you wish to add an opening message like you have then instead of adding to your actual star photo listing, add it here and make sure to add a link to your post.
- Larger images are better but avoid too much distortion/pixelated images.
- You could also imbed your caption in the image itself. You will see that I have done this on the image below.
- You’ve nicely centered the image but no need to center anything below the caption.
- Providing a link to your actual star photo makes it easier for others to visit it on Maps should they choose too.
- Making the description more interesting/useful to the reader is important.
Futures:
- You could look at adding a table showing the monthly history of the views of your star photo.
- As well as a star views history table, you could add a chart (feature coming to the T100 System).
