Discovering restaurants and foodies spots around the old town in Genoa Italy

The best thing of being a local guide is the great motivation that it gives me to visit new places every time that I want to. Speaking about my city Genoa I can say that I’m very lucky to live just by the city old town, which is the biggest in Europe and in recent years it’s hosting a new wave of restaurants and foodies spots openings like never before. There are so many new places and so many different options where to eat in a relatively small area that sometimes it’s too hard for me to choose where to go. You’ll find any kind of cuisine in the old town, Italian, local, gourmet and fine restaurants and cozy traditional “trattoria’s” vegan and vegetarian, Asian, South American, North American, African, bakeries, ice cream shops, pizza shops, great hamburgers and kebabs and so on. Even if there is this large choice I strongly recommend to book in advance especially on weekends since most of the restaurants are very small and you won’t easily find place for two people.

With Google and Internet connections that are improving year after year is getting easier to move around the old town and find activities that your looking for but still you need look up maps really well to find yourself in that small alleys labyrinth called “caruggi”. To be more specific in most of the shops, according also to your provider, phone networks and Internet connections are not available at all!!

That’s my invitation to discover Genoa’s old town and it’s food wonders!
