Embarking on an unforgettable adventure with three friends from Yemen and one from Morocco, we set out to explore the remarkable Qingling Wildlife Park in Xi’an, China. The journey from our starting point took approximately two hours, a testament to our eagerness to discover the natural wonders that awaited us.
Upon arrival, our senses were immediately captivated by the enticing aromas wafting from street carts dotting the entrance. Succumbing to the temptation, we indulged in delectable street food and an assortment of mouthwatering fruits, a tantalizing prelude to the sensory feast that awaited us within the park.
With our appetites satisfied, we embarked on our exploration. Our first stop was the tourist shop, an essential waypoint to gather insights about the park and secure our tickets. After a student discount, we paid 100 yuan each, granting us access to the wonders that lay ahead. It was revealed that the standard entrance fee for non-students was 140 yuan, making our discounted entry an added bonus.
Eager to embrace every facet of the park, we ventured on foot for approximately two kilometers until we reached the heart of the wildlife sanctuary. Here, an intriguing sight awaited us: a serpentine line of fellow visitors eagerly waiting to board the buses that would transport us through the open wildlife park. After a brief respite, we moved on to another section of the park, where caged yet peaceful animals awaited our admiration. Among them, the hippopotamus reigned as the star, drawing a crowd around its watery abode.
