Google maps are mistakenly believed to be not more than a tool to discover tourist highlights when traveling. It is not true. For me, Maps is an excuse to discover my own city: that beach that I keep hearing about and I have never been to (“maybe tomorrow”), that statue that I never look at when I go to work every day, even that new store I have never been to but is conveniently open even on Sundays. Places and secret corners that I’m excited to discover and share as a local guide, feeling myself sometimes like a foreigner it helps rediscovering my own city. And what about you?
