When I searched for thrift stores on Google Maps, the Animal Center popped up right on the screen, which confused me, and I’m sure it confused others too. This location is situated inside the Jersey Shore Animal Center but operates independently. (The Jersey Shore Animal Center is a shelter for abandoned animals ; in fact, I was able to take a tour and see some of the dogs and cats).
JSAC does something unique: it’s a thrift store that donates 100% of its sales to the Animal Center. To that end, they receive daily donations in an adjoining area at the back of the store. These items are then sold Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
What I liked most? The friendly staff are so welcoming, smiling, and eager to help and answer any questions customers may have. The products themselves are of excellent quality at truly unbeatable prices (my wife bought a complete tea set and ornaments!). This is an example of a 100% non-profit business that actively supports the community by giving a second life to the things they sell and directly impacting animal welfare. I hope they become more well-known and, above all, that more people decide to adopt a pet. More donations = more sales = more support
As a Local Guide, I felt very happy today and wanted to share my story, which I hope will inspire you in some way. @JordanBurleson made a post yesterday that resonated strongly in my mind, in which he explained why he’s a Local Guide . Reading it made me reflect for a while on my motives. What I experienced today, what I felt about being able to help the Animal Center—that emotion is my reason for being a Local Guide. For personal reasons, I was somewhat disconnected from social media for a while, but being able to return to one of my favorite passions is simply priceless. Organisation like Thrift store is big help to society, if run mindfully.
In some of the Thrift store you get original and genuine stuff at very reasonable price. The crockery at display is one such example. Your act of putting this store into the google map, is praiseworthy . Keep up the good work My best wishes are with you.
