Hello my Local Guides friends from all over the world, this time I want to tell you that earlier this year I have realized one of my dreams for traveling abroad. Last month in January I had the opportunity to travel in Korea. And i using my PRIDE! Google Local Guides T-shirts.
Wow wonderful photos! How was your experience in South Korea and China? What was your favorite thing about it and was there something disappointing? I also would like to visit both countries, it’s so much different from Europe.
Such a nicely summarised recap of your trip. Your photos are just amazing!
I haven’t had the chance to travel to South Korea and China yet, but I’d love to do it one day. What was the highlight of your experience? Is there a place you think I should definitely visit?
@LilyanaZ and @TsekoV , check out this great post! Have you been to those places?
Thank you for sharing these photos with us, they really make me reminisce about living in Korea. Did you manage to visit the other royal palaces or did you go only to Gyeongbokgung? Namsan tower is also a must visit and the view from the top of the tower is really amazing at night since you get to see almost the whole city illuminated.
@OmerAli , your description of Korea is replicating my exact thoughts. Did you live there for a while or did you visit the country often?
After this great presentation, I really can’t miss a trip to South Korea, @OmerAli !
A special thank you for mentioning the islands, too. I love being around water, so those would definitely be included in my itinerary (along with Gangnam, of course, hahaha).
Do you have some great photos from South Korea to share?
By the way, I’ve seen similar fusion of tradition and modernity in Japan, especially in big cities like Tokyo and Yokohama. Have you been there?
I had the chance to visit South Korea at the beginning of 2015 and stayed there for 10 days at my friend’s house. All those moments are one of the best memories in life, aren’t they? : )
Here is another shot that I have. It is while my friend and I climbed one of the peaks in the Seoraksan National Park. @LilyanaZ Have you ever been there?
As for China… This is a dream of mine that I got to realize. I lived there for 3 years and finished my studies there. I have been travelling to China for more than 6-7 times and I know there is never a last chance going there. I really hope you will visit it again this time spending significantly more time than 19 hours. : )

It would be more than great to hear more about your trip to the Annapurna Basecamp. As Himalayas are sacred lands, everyone going there must have felt a special feeling there. What about you? How did you feel getting closer to the top of the world?
I have also been to a part of the Himalayas, but from the Tibetan part. Here is a photo that I took in the city of Xigaze.
