The Local Guides program allows me and consumers alike to share our personal experiences with establishments and products. This program allows me to also assist other consumers in deciding on a new product or a new establishment to visit. I’ve had customers contact me from all over about my experiences with a certain product or visit with a particular location. I love this platform because it’s also a very useful tool for small businesses. Small business owners have the option of seeing what their customers think about their service and their products. This platform allows everyone to move forward, because it allows people to voice their true opinions and experiences. I had an unforgettable and unpleasant experience at the Save Mart grocery store right here in Sparks, Nevada. My family and I went to Save Mart to pick up wild caught Keta Salmon for dinner. We brought the fish home, cleaned it and began to season it. My fiance started to notice what seemed to be a worm wiggling in the fish. We looked closer only to confirm that it was a worm but he wasn’t alone. We saw that there were at least four parasitic worms crawling on the fish. Immediately my fiance and I packed up the fish and drove it back to Save Mart. Save Mart apologized and gave us a gift card for the inconvenience. I decided that this information had to be shared, because people needed to be informed. I posted my experience on Google Maps and thus far my photos of the fish have gotten a total of 235 views and my review has a total of 72 views. Although this wasn’t a pleasant experience, I was able to educate myself and others with this experience. I’m now more knowledgeable on wild caught fish. I love that people read my reviews and ask questions. It pays to know the facts.
