Dinner at Bhagwana Hotel - An Oasis in the Desert of the Night

Last year in April on a cool summer night I found this hotel open at 10:30 pm when every other hotel in the neighborhood was closed. The lockdown in April 2021 was still in effect partially and most hotels would close promptly by 8:30 pm.

I spent a tiring day sorting, packaging, and dispatched my household stuff from Delhi for relocating to my hometown - Pune.

The Bhagwana Hotel on the Basai Road of Gurugram stood like an oasis in the desert of the dark night.

The moment we stepped in the interiors impressed me with its lavish decorations. The seating was posh and comfortable while the service was quick and decent.

A major attraction was the unique items like this bicycle model with Edison bulbs hanging from the roof that the kids enjoyed a lot along with more Edison bulbs tied to a thick rope.

While the food arrived we read the various ticklish and humorous slogans posted on the neat frames, some of which were arranged like a collage.

One of them read 'Pran Jaey par Wajan na Jaey’, meaning ‘eat well, do not worry about the weight gain’.

Weight gain is a popular thing about people in Delhi - most people around here have bulging stomachs famously called the Delhi Belly.

Everyone in the family enjoyed the food that was superb in taste. We tried Royal Paneer Curry and fried rice with Daal Tadka. All were delicious.

Another frame read ‘Eat, Play, Sleep, Repeat’ - and we fully agreed. So we went there for the morning breakfast the next day just before catching the flight to Pune.

They accepted cash and online payments via apps. And though I am not returning to Delhi any time soon I would still recommend the Bhagwana Hotel as a - “must visit again”.

Very creative framing of the post @TusharSuradkar . loved the food pictures. I am total fan of such small restaurants and roadside vans as well…they serve delicious food which is rarely available otherwise.

Very attractive interior decoration indeed!
