There are several open plaza malls where there is the name of the shopping plaza, but Google gets confused about which place I’m visiting. Furthermore, the individual addresses of the businesses in many a shopping mall don’t link to the storefront, but rather an arbitrary point on the map.
In searching for the business by name, it shows up fine, but when I copy/paste the business’ address back to Google maps, it messes up.
I’ve tried making edits to the address, but can’t really do anything on Google maps. There’s nothing to edit on the Business page, because that’s correct.
A lot of malls manage their own entries and set the address to one of the mall entrances or to the centre management office which isn’t particularly helpful. As an example at Bayside Mall in Frankston, Victoria, AU all the shops have the same address and it is the address of the main carpark.
Some malls have indoor GPS navigation and they can be a bit easier to use. Westfield Fountain Gate in Narre Warren, Victoria, AU is like this.
Generally the Malls do their own entries in collaboration with the Google Maps team.
