Diaries of a Sojourner

I grew up in a culture where feedback to service providers was almost always viewed in a negative light. Hence, a lot of local businesses or service providers from drinking bars, restaurants to convenient shops and offices received little or no feedback on their work and when they did, they were a bit hesitant to act on recommendations. So for a long time many others and I have had to compromise for average customer service experience. Add to this, it is difficult to sometimes locate a place in local communities especially because people in their bid to offer directions or help may half of the time mislead instead of saying in honest terms that they do not know a particular place across cities, towns and villages in Ghana.

In light of these experiences, being an ardent user of google often helped to bridge this gap through the use of google guide to find places, read reviews about others’ experiences, make informed decisions and google maps to locate destinations with voice prompts for assistance. I have personally used google guide to tour and live through the reviews of other people and contribute the same to google guide as a local guide sometimes without data.

Today, I have a better outlook on traveling both within and outside my country because I am able to use google guide not only to offer travelers and the general public honest and constructive reviews of the places I have been, but also to share photos of the same places. I believe a lot of businesses and people are also taking cues form google guide to offer express responses to questions raised by customers online and to improve on their customer experience and service delivery at large.

We are changing the world through google guide!
