The forest surrounding the lake has a great diversity of trees and plants, such as oaks, chestnuts, gondolas, and various medicinal herbs.

Lake Tezmqida, located at the top of Mount Tzmqida, gives a clear picture of the northern part of the Mitidja Plain, the Borumi Valley and the Shefa on the eastern side, the entrance to Medea and Wadi Harbil to the south, and part of the Upper Chlef to the west. It extends over an area of two hectares surrounded by a forest chain containing many types of plants such as oak trees. Green, cork oak, rustic oak, elm, carob, Aleppo pine, olive and mulberry. This plant diversity has turned the area into a favorite place for various types of birds such as: white stork, curlew, swans, cranes, owls, hawks, in addition to many types of birds. Mammals such as the mago monkey, rabbit, fox, chameleon and tortoise. This attractive site was the source of inspiration for many historical and fictional stories passed down through the generations to become rooted in the collective memory of the residents of the region to this day. The most famous of these legends, which were told by bloggers of the occupation army, tell that in the late 12th century AD there was a righteous man named Si Muhammad Boushaqour who resided In the Mozaya region, which includes many tribes constantly warring among themselves, within a few years the latter succeeded in establishing reconciliation between the combatants present in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, and in order to reward them for complying with the reconciliation, he promised them to develop their country. He split the mountain with his axe, resulting in a sweeping torrent. Wadi Mitidja overflowed, and from it emerged a valley called Wadi al-Shifa (Wadi Shifa) because its waters quickly heal the wounds of various tribal warriors.

After returning to their homes, the representatives of the Trucial Tribes once again sought help from the righteous guardian to make the vineyards planted in the region abundant in production. Si Muhammad Bouchagour settled in Mount Tamzqida and ordered the various tribes to bring a little water every morning to pour it on top of the mountain peak, and from here arose the legend of Lake The Hanging Lake, whose water never dries up and remains abundant even in times of severe drought. The Hanging Lake has remained for a long time a place visited by the residents of the region to search for a healing treatment. Through their journey, visitors maintain the ancient rituals inherited from their ancestors. With the season of plowing or harvesting, visitors ascend to the top of the mountain
