Denver to Vote on Decriminalizing Magic Mushrooms

“The Denver Psilocybin Mushroom Decriminalization Initiative” is an initiative to approve an ordinance that would make possession of the magic mushrooms, no matter the weight, legal for people 21+. Also under the initiative, it would be legal to grow magic mushrooms at a person’s private residence, but not available for recreational sales like cannabis. It will be looked at on the May 7th, 2019 Municipal Election Ballot.

Personally, I think that’s OK. If people who are “in the know” and already know where to get them like to go on a trip every now and then, I can dig it. But the average Joe shouldn’t have access to psychedelics. We have seen what happens when people who aren’t regular users of cannabis have bad reactions from eating too many edibles. The same would go for shrooms, just on a much gnarlier scale!

Also, I should take this opportunity to state that studies have been done that show magic mushrooms can be BENEFICIAL for Alzheimer’s in low to moderate doses! So there is MEDICAL applications for it as well!
