The introduction of the metro rail service in Delhi has changed the face of transportation for Delhiites. Specially designed keeping in mind the comfort of the passengers and the traffic on the road the metro rail services in Delhi have been appreciated all over the globe. As expected the metro railway network has almost covered the entire city and with continuous endeavors of expansion most of the neighboring areas and suburbs will be covered by the metro railway by the end of 2020.
The Delhi Metro railway is being constructed in Phases. Most of the routes under Phase 1 were completed before 2010. The second phase known as Phase II covers almost 79 stations and was successfully completed in 2010. The other projects in the pipeline are Phase III and IV which have a network spanning over 413 km and are expected to be ready by the end of 2020.
This looks very modern and well organized. I like to use the metro wherever I travel, because this is the fastest way to get from A to B. In Budapest the metro lines are a bit complicated, you can get lost easily if you dont listen carefully. There are 4 lines and the last one was finished in 2014 and it looks super cool and modern. In Sofia there are only 2 lines and some of the stations should be renovated soon.
Nice informative post, @sushil_raghav . Congratulations on getting a modern and efficient underground service. I also live in a big city and know how important public transport is.
All over the world we’ve allowed the car to become king, to have priority and to dictate how cities are developed. We need to change, to get people out of their private vehicles and on public transport. If that public transport is fast and comfortable, then our task is just that little bit easier.
