Hi @WildWeasel , welcome back in Connect with a post after a very long time.

What you say is indeed very true, and I see you are active, with 151 roads added in Maps. Well done !! As we are a community it would be very helpful if you wants to share with us your tips for adding roads, like I did here: 3000+, and counting. My tips for adding roads in Google Maps

To make adding Roads more funny you can also join us in the challenge started by @SholaIB : What’s TRAC?Can I join??How???

We started with a target fo 3000, then we moved to 10,000 roads, then in 50,000 and we are very close to achieve it.

About helpfulness, I would like to add a couple of notes:

  • You don’t need to write your post in more than one language. The translator embedded in Connect can do it for us, in more than 130 different languages
  • In Google Maps please avoid to add duplicates and redundant photos. You are an enthusiastic contributor, but that kind of contributions it is very risky for your Local Guides Account. According to the Community policy : “Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, … will also be removed.”

If you have any question feel free to ask, we will have for sure some tip for you about this issue

Hi @WildWeasel

Thanks for asking about redundant / similar photos.

To answer your question I made a screenshot from your photo contributions.

I marked 4 of your photos that are basically showing the same business. 3 of them should be deleted.

Which one you decide to keep depends on which is more helpful. And you can also include the views when deciding which one to keep.

Cheers

Morten

It would be great if you tag the person you are responding to, @WildWeasel , by using @ followed by the username of the Local Guide. This will make easy for active local Guides to know that they are mentioned in a conversation.

Redundant photos are very similar photos uploaded in a place. As the similar photos are not adding/providing any additional details about the place, such photos are considered just a trick to get more points. Apart of the few examples shared by @MortenCopenhagen , there are a lot more redundant photos in your contributions.

Duplicates across Locations means that the same Photos / Videos are posted in more than one place.

Here below a few examples. Same color = Same photo / video

In addition, if Hubert Farms and Hubert Family Tulips are two different business they should have different photos, while if they are the same they should be reported for a merge, don’t you agree?

Hope you can now see where the duplicates and redundant photos are, or at least some of them
