This is interesting, @user_not_found
, because as you said, you managed the listing for two years.
For that reason you shouldn’t review that business. This kind of violation is defined as “conflict of interest” and it applies when someone directly related with the business is rating it.
It can be the owner, the administrator, or even a worker, the family of the owner, or someone who worked in that place in the past, or even a competitor.
The principle behind the rule is that someone directly related to the business can have a personal interest in giving a high [or low] rating to that place.
The results is an alteration of the rating, that can damage the business, of low, or the consumers, if high.
In some country the intentional alteration of the rating is also forbidden by law.
So in such case the best option would be to delete that review.

Of course, @user_not_found
There are a lot of conversations in Connect about hidden reviews, mostly because there is a huge issue with fake reviews.
Of course after the appeal most of the reviews are released, when in the reviews there is a “real experience” of the place.
“Nice to be able to shop locally again” doesn’t show a real experience, but the simple fact that there is a new local shop. Probably an edit in the text would help to have your review approved. After the edit is also possible to appeal again, is the review is blocked.
For more details about this issue time ago I wanted to write a post: Your review has not been published. Do you know why?
Bienvenido @user_not_found
a los miles de Local Guides que nos han eliminado (sin aviso) muchas de nuestras reseñas.
Cada vez veo mas gente descontenta y sumamente desilusionada por las “politicas” que aplican.
Lo siento mucho, se lo que se siente.

I’m sorry to read this, @user_not_found
, because as you said 99% of your reviews are visible (4 of mine are not, and I will have to appeal).
Unfortunately the fake reviews are starting to have legal implications, and this is influencing the reactions of all the platforms that are hosting reviews. All of them are now stronger, with harsh filters that sometimes can make mistakes. But the system is reliable because of honest Local Guides like you, so please do not lose hope.
