[DEEP TAIWAN] You want to eat Shaved Ice a lot🍨🍨🍨

It has been a long time for everyone of my post fans🤗. I stayed in Taiwan for about a month and during that time I was extremely busy with work, study and sightseeing🏃‍♂️, so I was fasting social network activities. Resume the introduction of Taiwan😆!!

Well, why do you want shaved ice in Taiwan? And why does Taiwan have so many ice stores:ice_cream::ice_cream::thinking:?? The reason is the intensity and humidity of the sunshine, and the temperature. Because of that, you consume energy at high humidity:tired_face:. Taiwanese people say “Please prepare water” instead of “Take care”. You will always be thirsty and you will want to rush to the ice shop like a desert oasis:ice_cream::running_woman:.

The first photo is Taiwan’s most famous “芒果雪花冰 Mango snowflake ice”. There is a soil mango on top of the diced mango. Taiwan is a fruit treasure. Particularly representative fruits are mango, pineapple and watermelon:pear::pineapple::watermelon:. All of them are deep sweetness:yum:!!

“雪花冰 Snowflake ice” is fluffy ice made by cutting milk and condensed milk block ice with a special machine🍨. These shaved ice is a type that has a large amount called “冰山 Ice mountain”. According to a Taiwanese Local Guides, it seems that the large amount looks luxurious✨, so it has an advertising effect in Instagram. Therefore, it is premised that several people share👪.

Traditional shaved ice is not large. And it’s not snowflake. Snowflake Mountain costs $ 8, but it’s $ 1. Traditional ice contains “豆花 Taiwan tofu”, Red beans, “芋円 Taro dumpling” and Tapioca. Usually no fruit.

(*Plum syrup shaved ice @YasumiKikuchi *)

This is the traditional “一中豊仁冰 Yī zhōng lǐrén bīng” shaved ice I like most in Taiwan. Sour plum syrup, soy, and mysterious sweet ice cream😋. The delicious thing is a design that does not shine in the Instagram🤔.

(*Salted corn shaved ice in Store 楊記花生玉米氷 @YasumiKikuchi *)

What do you think of shaved ice with salty corn:corn::open_mouth:? It’s delicious!! Next to it is sweet taro. There are many Taiwanese foods with adventurous combinations.

(*Red bean shaved ice in Store 清記氷菓店 @YasumiKikuchi *)

Many times during my stay in Taiwan, all the daily meals were shaved ice:ice_cream::ice_cream:. That’s delicious, large, cheap, and able to eat the best fruits:pineapple::smiley:!! If you travel to Taiwan just to try this ice culture, you will never lose.

Please comment on your country’s shaved ice culture. Do you have any unusual?

@YasumiKikuchi in San Francisco, the the snowflake ice is called snow in the dessert shops I go to.

A popular shaved ice store in the Bay Area is Meet Fresh. I actually just found one in Oakland by my work and will be visiting in very hot days

Wow, it’s even bigger @Twister411 !!
If you look at the topping of your photo, there is no doubt that it is the traditional menu of Taiwan🍨. Mango, soy, red beans, green beans are traditional Taiwan ice toppings. The yellow jelly is an image of the traditional Chinese medicine "仙草 Xiān cǎo":mag:

@YasumiKikuchi The servings are meant for 2 - 4 people. I think it costs me about $10 for that. I tired my best to eat the whole thing and had to skip dinner that night. I like that it isn’t very sweet at all.

My daughters like the shave blocks of snow which is very light and fluffy. Their favorite flavor is matcha.

Hi @Twister411
The price is similar to Taipei (other cities are cheaper). Even though it should be just water, we somehow get full. The recent Taiwanese may be so thin🤔. Taiwan is a production area of tea, but Matcha is imported from Japan and is familiar🍵. Anyway it’s Kawaii🍓!!

Thank you for sharing this @YasumiKikuchi

Taiwan fruits are very tasty. And shaved ice that used them a lot must be great as well!

Hi @HiroyukiTakisawa

Thank you for introducing the representative form of Mango snowflake ice in Taiwan’s leading shops “思慕昔 Smoothie”. This form is basic🍨. As you can see, more condensed milk and syrup are added on top of the sweet diced mango🍐. Nevertheless, it is not too sweet but just delicious😋. This is the seasoning method with many Taiwan mystery🕵️‍♀️.

@YasumiKikuchi I also like Korean shaved ice, bingsu. I’ve had it in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Looks delisious @Twister411 !
Korean shaved ice and Taiwanese ice are similar in material but different in taste:shaved_ice::ice_cream:. Did you know? Both Taiwan and Korea are the origin of shaved ice from Japan:japan:.

This restaurant has been operating locally for many years, and your in-depth Taiwan travel has done very well!
Most tourists will go to Fengjia Night Market, and Yizhong Street is a night market for people in Taichung.
