Did you know the Goddess beloved in Taiwan? Her name is called “媽祖 Mazu”, a girl who has existed in the past👩. As a benevolent Mother of the God who protects the sea🚢, she is very much loved by the Taiwanese😘.
The name “Macau” is derived from the fact that when a foreigner asked, “What is the name of this place?”, The locals mistranslated it and said, “It’s a temple of Mazu”.
Born in China, she demonstrated the power of God at the age of sixteen👧. But before the age of thirty, her father was in trouble in the sea. She sailed to find her father with sorrow, but she was lost. It’s a very sad story😢.
She is familiar to Taiwanese people😘. Certainly it is strict, but sometimes it is the subject of art or animation. The largest youth town in Taiwan, “西門 Xiamen”, is the theme of Mazu anime characters👧.
The most famous temple of Mazu in Taiwan is the “大甲鎮瀾宮 Dà jiǎ zhèn lán Temple” in Taichung👸. Taiwan’s largest religious festival is held every April and walks a distance of 200km in 10 days:running_woman:
