[DEEP JAPAN] Sapporo Snow Festival is the 3 best festivals in the world⛄

https://youtu.be/C2cyqgAxICk

The snow festival is held in Sapporo in the first half of February where Japan is the coldest⛄. Along with Harbin of China and Quebec City of Canada, it is very popular with foreigners as the world’s three big snow festival🌎 It will be held in the center of Sapporo city🏙.

Projection mapping and AI vocal robot originated in Sapporo, such as evolving every year by actively adopting the latest technology📱.

To the center of the city, a huge snow image that can be produced only by the Japanese Self Defense Force carrying snow using military trucks is made🚛

The Sapporo Snow Festival has been in its 70th year this year and has a long history. In the first 1950 years, it was the beginning that junior high school students and high school students made 6 snow statues. It is said that 50,000 people visited in one day. It was aimed at restoration from war and providing activities to citizens who do not exercise during the winter season. It was reported around the world at the Sapporo Olympic Games in 1972, and it is extremely popular for foreign tourists until today:blonde_woman::man_with_gua_pi_mao::bearded_person:.

Therefore, many street shops line up traditional Japanese cuisine for foreigners:ramen::bento::rice_ball:.

Accessibility is also as substantial as Kyoto📢. There are a lot of snow during the period, but there is a wheelchair free rental and assistance volunteer service♿. There are many free rest areas warmed by the stove and some public toilets. In Japan you can freely use the convenience store or the rest room of a department store🚻.

How is the beauty of your country’s snow festival? Please post a photo:snowman::camera:

Another great post about Japan @YasumiKikuchi , thanks for sharing!

I can’t believe I’ve never heard about this, but to be honest, I didn’t know Japan was a great place for skiing until a few years ago.

I’m really impressed with the way they colored that giant ice sculpture in lights!

I will have to keep my eyes open for snow festivals in the future. Hopefully I get to experience one for myself someday.

You will need to come to Japan @MortenSI

As you say, the Japanese ski resort is of high quality🎿. Foreign tourists are enjoying skiing even in the countryside ski resort where usually foreigners can not know. They are often not intended for tourist destinations in the vicinity. It seems that he loves only Japanese ski resorts so much🎿

I will visit one day @YasumiKikuchi , that’s for sure!

I love skiing so maybe I should try it in Japan instead of always in Europe. I could always combine it with visiting other parts of Japan.

Which resort would you recommend going to for a week of skiing?

Hi @MortenSI

Hokkaido would be the best. For example Niseko and Furano, you can also sightsee🤔 However, Nagano is good if it is from Tokyo. Hakuba is very popular🎿.

I stayed in near Nagano Snow monkey land the other day, It was crowded with foreign skier😮

Thanks for the tips @YasumiKikuchi !

By the looks of it, they’re all great. It would bu great if it had good connections to Tokyo, then ir would be possible to see both places.
