[DEEP JAPAN] #01 A row of huge cherry trees in Miyagi Tohoku🌸🌳🌸

Tourists are exclaiming “Why in this place!?:open_mouth:”. It will be one of the last miracle in the memory of the crowd:thinking:.

There is a row of cherry trees that is so large and long distance:cherry_blossom::cherry_blossom::cherry_blossom:. This is called “白石川堤一目千本桜 Hitome SenbonZakura” in Miyagi Tohoku🗾. It was only a year ago that it was developed as a tourist destination. The miracle landscape is not yet in the memory of the crowd. It’s really DEEP JAPAN.

This row of trees is 8 km long! And all the trees are huge. Furthermore, about 1200 huge cherry trees line up along the river:cherry_blossom::deciduous_tree::cherry_blossom::deciduous_tree::cherry_blossom:.

Originally “千 Sen” means thousand. But “千本桜 Sen bon zakura” in Japanese means “Innumerable cherry blossoms”. Therefore, even if it is 800, it says it is SenbonZakura. But there are really over thousand!!

As you may notice, if it is lined with trees it was planted artificially. And all are being cared for by the gardener even 100 or 1000.

Why were you not known before? Because there is not much to pick up at this place. However, there is a breed called "染井吉野 Somei Yoshino", the largest in Japan🌳. This breed is Japan’s largest number of cherry blossoms🥇.

You can use public transportation as an attraction🚞! A very serious Japanese railway will provide tourist information only for this section:policewoman:! You can enjoy it for only 1 dollar:heart_eyes:.

Let’s eat “花見おしるこ Hanami Oshiruko” at Funaoka Station🥣. This is a sweet red bean soup. Tea is fragrant with plum and is very Japanese🍵.

And the traditional sweets for Hanami in Japan “桜餅 Sakura Mochi”. There is a strawberry Sakura Mochi in Miyagi🍡.

Let’s anticipate DEEP JAPAN:cherry_blossom::cherry_blossom::cherry_blossom::running_woman:!!

Hi @YasumiKikuchi

Thank you for this fabulous post. It is always fantastic to see places that are unique to a country, and even better to see places that are not well known yet. Sharing places that are so different and not very well known yet is lovely to see.

Your videos are excellent also with the first one showing the walk in and amongst the cherry blossoms. And the second one showing from the train that you describe to us. The train video shows how long that the line of trees are, it goes for a very long way.

Thank you also for giving us the Japanese names as well as in English. (It is also very interesting to hear the different translations on the train too).

I enjoy your reference to Google Maps as well so we can see where this place is. . I put this place on my lists of places I want to go.

It is also good to see where you are talking about and where these amazing pink and white floral delights are in Japan from your map reference.

Your photos are terrific in showing they are so incredible, totally sensational and huge, in being the largest species of cherry blossom trees and wonderful to see so many. It is well great asto see pictures shared on Google Maps as here as well as on Local Guides Connect.

The cakes and food photos look very delicious also. Thank you for sharing there too. Plus it is fun to see Local Guides Connect member @user_not_found

enjoying the tea and cakes you share.

Hello @Justine2807 ,

Thank you for many warm words🙏!! I’m glad you liked it, and I’m especially happy to you see all my videos📺. Somei Yoshino, a representative of Japan’s cherry blossoms, is pale pink and you can easily identify it🌸! My friend seems to have made a yellow skirt with the image of a rape blossoming under the cherry blossoms💃.
